不管是冬季還是其它季節，有很多車主都習慣采取原地怠速熱車的方式，熱車一段時間再行駛，覺得自上料混凝土攪拌車，這時性能佳。但事實上，原地怠速熱車不僅效果有限，還浪費汽油和時間。當引擎在沒有負荷的狀態下，溫度的爬升是相當緩慢的，也就是說，引擎在怠速狀態下需要很長的時間才能達到正常的工作溫度。正確的做法應當是自上料混凝土攪拌車，原地熱車30秒左右後，立即上路行駛。但由於此時引擎及驅動係統都尚未達到正常的工作溫度，仍應將轉速控製在約2000轉/分鍾之內，待水溫達到正常後方可高轉速運行。

一旦自上料混凝土攪拌車，熄火，蓄電池就處於隻放電不充電的工作狀態。所以如果在長時間熄火後仍然一直在使用車內大功率用電器，比如開著車輛大燈、停車在路邊長時間聽音樂等等，這樣可能很快導致蓄電池徹底放電、自上料混凝土攪拌車，無法啟動的嚴重後果。
